Ruth Soller » Glenwood Springs Winter

I painted this Glenwood Springs Winter snow scene in my studio using a palette knife to create a more abstract textural surface of thick oil paint. I kept the colors muted while focusing on light and dark values, portraying the soft haze in the atmosphere. I feel the silence of a blanket of fresh snow.
