Winter Cattails
Walking near Coal Creek trail on a winter morning we spied a stand of cattails backlit before a snowy bank. Here is a scene just east of the trail head of cattails in the snow. Attracted to the pattern of light filtered through the dark cattails, I painted this scene in my studio. Notice the southwestern flavor of the color harmony among the oranges, blues and violets.
